2013 started off on the wrong foot for Gangster Squad star Josh Brolin: the actor spent part of New Year's Day and the day after in a Santa Monica jail after he was arrested for public intoxication. Police found Brolin heavily intoxicated on a local sidewalk and placed the actor in a holding cell for approximately six hours before releasing him. Because public intoxication is a misdemeanor charge and he was not given a citation, he will likely not have to appear in court. This is not Brolin's first run-in with the law; in 2008, he and actor Jeffrey Wright were arrested at a Louisiana bar during the wrap-party for the movie W. They were accused of interfering with police as authorities tried to arrest another person for causing a disturbance. Another celebrity busted for booze in the new year is actor Thomas Gibson, the star of Criminal Minds and Dharma & Greg, who was arrested yesterday for DUI. The actor drove through a barricade in downtown Los Angeles that was set to keep cars off the course of an overnight half-marathon. When he was pulled over, Gibson refused to take a breathalyzer after smelling alcohol on his breath. He posted $15,000 bail immediately and was released.
