Recovery from addiction can lead to some unlikely friendships. And here’s a prime example: rapper Chris Brown and reality star Scott Disick have been helping each other “stay strong and sober” in the wake of substance abuse-related drama for both of them in recent years, TMZ reports.

Disick, the 32-year-old ex-partner of reality star Kourtney Kardashian, has been in and out of rehab multiple times. He most recently checked into rehab in California in October, reportedly in an attempt to gain custodial visits of his kids. Before that, he announced his prior stint in rehab this past March in a press release, saying, “My issues are bigger than me and I’m ready to truly remedy this struggle I continue to battle.”

Disick’s battle with alcohol got copious screen time on the reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. In one episode, Kardashian, the mother of his three children, issued an ultimatum, threatening to kick him out of their house. “Unless you want to be sober, then I don’t want you here,” she said. “And if you want to die, then you can continue to act this way.”

Rapper Chris Brown, who infamously assaulted singer Rihanna in 2009, has also battled addiction in the public eye. Brown, 26, spent more than three months in jail last year after being kicked out of court-ordered rehab. He later blamed his behavior on an addiction to a “hood cocktail” of codeine-based cough syrup mixed with Xanax and soda.

But according to TMZ, the singer and TV personality are cleaning up their acts. The two were spotted leaving a nightclub in Los Angeles last week, where they hung out and “only drank water” all night. Brown even included Disick in his new music video for “Picture Me Rollin” earlier this month. May the force be with them.
