A Canadian model who once posed for Playboy is now facing serious jail time after being accused of smuggling over 50,000 MDMA pills onto a private plane.

Krista Boseley and Gilles Joseph Pierre Lapointe were both apprehended after the incident at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA. The duo were stopped by authorities outside of their rental car and a search of Lapointe’s belongings turned up 30,000 MDMA pills.

Another 28,000 pills and over 55 pounds of the drug were later found on the plane they were attempting to board. Lapointe also had $13,000 in his backpack and Boseley had $7,500 in her purse, but they both told authorities they had won the money at a casino.

This isn’t Boseley’s first brush with the law, however. She was stopped by the LAPD in September 2013 and they discovered over $40,000 in cash on her, but she insisted the money belonged to someone else. Boseley is not behind bars at the moment, but Lapointe currently is.

Last August, another former Playboy model was sentenced to six years behind bars for her role in an Australian drug smuggling ring. Brandi Brandt, the former wife of Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, pleaded guilty last April to conspiring to import drugs throughout 2007. The smuggling ring hid packages of cocaine on flights from California to Sydney, but District Court Judge Peter Zahra acknowledged that her role was “substantially lower” than the others involved.

Brandt will be eligible for parole in 2016, but her lawyer said that it is unlikely she will be in trouble with the law again. She had gotten clean and worked a regular job in the years between the drug ring’s bust and her arrest and extradition back to Australia.
