About a year ago, employees at Chrysler’s Jefferson North Plant in Detroit were caught on video in an embarrasing way: They were drinking on the job. More specifically, drinking and drugging during their lunch breaks, in cars and at a nearby park. Chrysler fired 13 workers, and that was that. Except that exactly the same behavior was documented by a news crew for FOX 2 Detroit, at Chrysler’s Trenton Engine Plant. Scott Garberding, the automaker’s Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, said that he was “both hurt and angered” over the video. “It’s very frustrating to us, we take it very seriously.”
