In a bizarre video that’s sweeping the web, a girl at a Czech beer festival impresses her friends by “drinking” a pint of beer—through her ear. In the video (below), the drinker places the end of a bendy straw into her ear. Then, with visible discomfort, she appears to suck it up in under two minutes as her friends cheer her on. But not everyone is convinced. Skeptics have pointed out that the cup could have been switched for a trick cup, or a tube could be hidden in her friend’s sleeve. So is such a feat even possible? “In theory, as the ears’ Eustachian tubes connects them to the throat, it could be possible to consume liquid into the stomach through the ear,” an expert tells the Daily Mail, “But the Eustachian tube is incredibly narrow which makes it highly unlikely that an entire pint of liquid could get down it.” To guzzle this much beer through the ear would require a hole in the eardrum, or no eardrum at all. The expert adds: “trying this stunt at home is not advisable.”
